This hotel is about 8 minutes from the train station so very convenient for getting to the airport, traveling around Sydney, and traveling by bus or train to other parts of Australia. You can walk to Circular Quay in about 40 minutes and you're near a lot of good restaurants -- including the many options at Spice Alley literally next door. The hotel used to be an industrial space and has a great steampunk aesthetic. The rooftop pool is amazing: it's heated, you have views of the city, and it's long enough to swim laps. I stayed in room 220 and it had an amazing bathtub, lovely windows, a nice seating area, a very comfortable and large bed, and was very quiet. Breakfast was included and it was tasty and substantial.

I was in a showroom suite, large and furnished tastefully with great art work and funky reminders of building's industrial past. High ceilings and large windows for light and excellent blockout curtains for sleeping. Good desk, cupbards, armchair and excellent modern bathroom. Also love the view from Floor 4 though too cold to use the pool on this visit. Reception staff excellent - especially when my mobile phone was left at a restaurant. Great assistance in contacting restaurant and taxi company late at night, and retrieving it next morning. Old Clare is also close to several good places to eat, including Spice Alley. Close to Central station and coach stops.

Margaret

The building is lovely and really well maintained. The rooftop is a nice space and the location of the hotel is really convenient for getting around, plus there are lots of great restaurants right outside as Chinatown is right there. The staff recommendations in the information booklet in the room was a nice touch. I liked the hotel toiletries - the liquid soap and lotion were very nice.

Sanam

Lovely central location with quiet but surrounded by lively laneways and eateries. Building has so much character, don't need to leave or if you do, no need to go far with shops and restaurants a stones throw. Breakfast was amazing, a la carte, and included in our rate. Rooftop pool is a vibe on a hot Sydney day too!

Ali

Loved the location of the breakfast room on the alley. The chef was great, yummy food and great coffee The hotel itself was very interesting and arty and historic. We loved the different entry points and the location of the Hotel is just awesome
